Koroneiki is the chief oil variety of Greece.  It's fruit ripens early producing high oil yields from which a highly rated and stable oil is acheived.

Geographical Distribution

This cultivar is grown over 50% of the countrys growing region in areas such as Crete and Samos.

Description

Tree Medium, vigour with a sparse and spreading canopy.
Leaf The Leaves are elliptic-lanceolate, of short and narrow shape.
Flower
Stone The stone is elongated and pointed at both ends. It is slightly asymmetric with a smooth surface.
Fruit The fruit is small, low in weight and ovoid in shape.


Agronomic Characteristics

Koroneiki is resistant to drought but does not tolerate the cold, sensitive to olive knot.
